“Unsatisfied with an earlier version of this work, I felt I could do better with a fresh attempt using a new medium. I feel I satisfied my creativeness with each seasonal piece. Someone asked me: Why the dark outline? I chuckled because it was actually a happy accident! When I was taking a break from painting the piece, I noticed the sun was beaming through the window and when I sat down to continue, I notice the light created that shadow effect. I incorporated it into the piece.” – Gene Stout
